For rooms 75 square feet or smaller your ceiling fan should be 36 inches 91 4 cm or less in diameter.

You will want to check your fan to ensure that its cfm rating is anywhere between 1 600 and 4 500.
A small 10 x 10 room could accommodate a 48 to 72 fan.
Conversely spaces in the home with limited ceiling to floor height think bedrooms offices breakfast nooks etc require a low profile or flushmount ceiling fan.
Small diameter fan sizes are ideal for home offices and laundry rooms.
For adequate air circulation the fan blades should hang 8 inches or more from the ceiling.
